Description

Elixir Nanoweb Acoustic Guitar Strings; Don't Mess around with An Ordinary String! Elixir Strings with ultra thin NANOWEB coating sound great 3 to 5 times longer than ordinary strings. They have the bright tone and punch of non-coated strings. All this and they still feel like traditional strings Elixir Nanoweb Acoustic String Features Great Sound that lasts 3 to 5 times longer than ordinary strings Bright tone and punch like that of non-coated strings The Same Feel you get from Traditional Strings What causes ordinary strings to go dead? You do. Every time you pick up your guitar and play, you leave tiny bits of dead skin, body oils, sweat, and all types of gunk loitering on your strings. Stuck between the windings (a space Elixir calls the Critical Zone of Tone ), these contaminants dampen vibration and accelerate corrosion. The result? Strings that are dead, rough and dirty. The Cure for the Common String. Elixir Strings are coated in a unique way to protect wound strings from your DNA and other contaminants. A flexible, strong, yet micro-thin polymer tube defends the Critical Zone of Tone from invading enemies. Nothing (including the coating) gets between the windings. The result? Strings that sound and feel their best three to five times longer than ordinary strings. The Choice is Yours Elixir Strings are available in two different flavors. Both deliver the same long life, but differ in tone and feel.

5No need for a thousand dollar guitar  Sep 21, 2005 By O. BLGN "acoustic freak"
I have a 25 year old Yamaha FG-200D(Domestic model, made in Japan) acoustic guitar. When I bought it, it was around 200 - 250 USD. I always liked the way it sounded. It was always loud, bass rich, but a little dull in high tones. Recently I purchased a set of Elixir Nanoweb Light strings. Afterwards, it sounded so great that I won't change it for a thousand dollar worth Martin. I realized that the difference was not in high strings, it was the coated low ones which now sounds crystal clear and still rich. I strongly recommend to any acoustic player.

5Oh yes  May 17, 2007 By William R. Hoyes "Hoyes"
two things that will make this simple for everyone. First off I will never go back to anything else for acoustic and second the polyweb are great but I HIGHLY recommend the nano. The tone is beautiful, soft and they last forever. If you want a higher sound with more treble go for the polyweb.

5love Elixir nanoweb  Nov 11, 2006 By Owl "nordic/celtic guitarist"
I have been using Elixir Nanoweb strings for almost two years, and won't buy anything else. What they say about long string life is absolutely true. With other strings, I needed to change them after any gig or jam session that went more than a couple hours. If I didn't, the strings sounded really, really dead. I used to change strings at least weekly, and sometimes more often.

When I play Elixir strings, they sound great when I put them on, and they still sound pretty good when I change them 3-4 months later.

5Worth the price  Jun 12, 2009 By Nicholas E. Lindsay
I've tried all kinds of strings for my acoustic (a Seagull). Unfortunately for my wallet, these Elixirs are the ones I keep coming back to. I've given up trying other brands and I'm just gonna go with these from now on. When you find a good price, stock up because the quality can't be beat. And since they last longer (both physically and the tone of the sound), the value is actually pretty decent.

3Great, but G string doesn't last  Aug 05, 2008 By S. Brown
I've played with elixir strings since they first came out. I love the sound and the fact that they stay new for a long, long time. But it seems like about a year ago my g string started breaking way too early. I usually leave the strings on for about 3 months, but the g string has started breaking after about 1 month, or sometimes earlier depending on how much I play my acoustic. It breaks at the saddle and I make sure there are no burrs and that it's set up right, but it keeps breaking. I've talked to several other players in the area that have stopped using elixir for the same reason. If Elixir will get this fixed, I'll come back, but until then, I go with D'Addario DXR.
