5Nice acoustic pickup  Feb 22, 2012 By White "CW"
I had this professionally installed in my Epiphone Masterbilt dreadnaught. Sounds nice and the "tone" control allows the sound to be shaped to your liking. Seems loud enough not to require a Pre-amp-- however, I'm sure that would make it even fatter. I'd buy it again.

5Outstanding pickup  Jan 07, 2012 By David J Dixon Jr.
I received this as a gift for my Martin Guitar. Installation was very easy (if you are somewhat handy). I had it installed in about 20 min. My action was a little too low to begin with so I did not shave anything off of my bridge. After the install my action was just right (might now be the case for everyone). So far I am extremely happy with this pickup. Prior to installing this, I has attempted to use a Seymour Duncan Woody. The woody did the job but I could never get used to having it in the sound hole and on too many occasions I would step on the cable pulling it out of the sound hole (usually in the middle of a gig...you can't recover from such an error). The tone of the Infinity Matrix is great, it picks up finger tapping, slide work, and palm slaps (something the Woody did not). The Infinity Matrix has made my Martin sound like a whole new guitar. I am very pleased with this gift. I have used it plugged straight into the PA and also plugged into a separate amplifier, both options sound excellent. No feed back, no need for a sound hole cover and the on board adjustments give a wide range of flexibility. Tips for installation: Be patient, start with a small drill bit and work your way up, do not try to do it in one try (you will chip the finis of the guitar if you rush it. Use Alcohol wipes everywhere that you are going to put the adhesive clips, allow the spot to dry for a few min. When installing the pickup wire, do not pull it too tight, to much tension on the pickup wire will cause it to under perform. A small dab of lock tight on the strap button will keep it from coming loose (notice I said small dab....too much and you will never get it off again. Be sure to tighten it just enough to keep it in place, you don't want to over tighten is or you will crush the wood. Overall, I am very pleased and love performing with it. As an additional note, I use a cable that has an "L" shaped jack on the end. This helps guid it through your guitar strap and minimizes the amount of plug sticking out of the end of the guitar (this is just a personal preference)

5Purchase review  Sep 15, 2011 By Frank T. Fisher
Am well plesed with my purchase of the fishman pickup for my acoustic guitar. It arrived in a timely manner and was installed relatively easy in a short time and works beautifully. I used it the next day. Great price thx

2Fishman Matrix Infinity Pickup  Sep 11, 2011 By Frank Groom
This pickup significantly over-emphasizes the 6th string base (and not the 5th string base) regardless of how the controls are set. I am forced to dial down the Base control on my amp to offset this abnormality. This appears to be only a problem with strumming and flatpicking. Fingerstyle techniques allows sufficient control such that it is not noticible. Otherwise OK.

3Now its a winner  May 29, 2011 By Keith R. Brown "KRB"
I was torn between this pickup and the Jbaggs system. I chose this based on a friends revue. I installed the pickup (no instructions came with the package). but the install is straight forward. I checked the operation of the pickup several times during the process and when I was sure everything worked finished up. one more test was a failure, motor boat sounds, tapped on the circuit board and it worked for a minute but then back to the motor boat sound. nothing could be heard by tapping on the saddle pizeo either. So ..... I have sent it back to Amazon asking for a replacement. I will report back when I get that one installed. I know these work well and maybe I just got a bad one, so I'll try to stay optomistic. till then, ...... It would have been nice to have some instructions though, but oh well.
UPDATE: I got a replacement product and it went in without a hitch. The wire holders (stick things) were missing but no big deal. The pickup sounds great and installation is quite simple and logical. there are no instructions with the unit (or very few) but if you need help you can get it online. sure beats cutting big holes in the guitar.
