UpGrade Apr 30, 2010
By Garrett Parkey
"gap"
Excellent Term received a day early. Upgraded from a student guitar(The FAME Guitar). Great sounding plugged in or out(Jasmine ES45C),seems to be built very good. I have big fingers and don"t touch the other strings when playing like I was with the other guitar. Very Satisfied......Garrett

Not Flawless - But Wonderful! Jan 29, 2011
By JP-4 I have been playing guitar for a little over a year and started on a very inexpensive beginners guitar with a smaller style body. I promised myself that if I stuck with consistent practive for a year I would reward myself with a new instrument. After visiting the local guitar shop I had set my heart on Takamine EG260C-WR. The smaller FXC body style is very close to what I have been learning on. The biggest drawback was $350+ was a bit more than I wanted to spend.
After several setbacks in saving up for the Tak I finally decided to go with something a bit less expensive, reasoning that I would be happier with a less expensive guitar in hand than falling short and having nothing new at all.
After spending several weeks browsing used gear at Guitar Center I didn't see anything in my price range that I really liked. By chance I stumbled across this deal on Amazon and I couldn't be more pleased.
First off, you can't beat the price with a stick. Is the guitar of the exact same quality as the Tak I was trying to get, no...but don't let that turn you off. This is one heck of an upgrade to what I have been playing and a wonderful instrument.
I have read several reviews that Jasmine guitars have some quality control problems, such as skin cutting frets, rusty strings and flawed finishes. While I can't speak to the guitars that others have received I have no complaints.
Are the ends of my frets a bit on the rough side, sure but it's a very minor issue. I would have to go out of my way to force a cut onto my finger and wouldn't have thought to check if it hadn't been for a review mentioning the problem.
Checking my finish over with a very critical eye I can find small imperfections in the body's finish and fret board but they are very minor. You have to look very hard to find them. Anyone handling this guitar likely wouldn't even notice these small flaws.
The only thing I am a little disappointed with is the electronic controls. They sport only a gain and tone slider. However this is a very minor issue, again keeping in mind the target price. If I had to pay another $100 to get better electronics or stick with what this guitar came with, I'll keep the hundred bucks. Sure the day may come that this will become more of an issue, if I start playing in front of an audience for example, but I'm sure this will do just fine for a long time to come.
Everything else on this guitar has been terrific. The tuning pegs are solid, the overall look and feel is very nice, I have absolutely no fret buzz, and I love the full sound of the dreadnaught body style. Sure it's a bit bigger than I'm used to but I love the deeper voice that this design affords. Amped or unplugged this is a great sounding instrument. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an entry to mid-level guitar. I'm sure it won't compare to an instrument costing hundreds or thousands of dollars, but for most of us out there this is a GREAT choice!
Unless you want to spend double or more on your next guitar, pick this one up...now.

cant find another one with this quality at this price! May 26, 2010
By live the mission I was really skeptical of this guitar since it was so cheap and I wouldn't be able to actually play it before buying. I played a couple of other Jasmine guitars at a local shop after I ordered it and they sounded bad, so I got worried that I had made a mistake. I was pleasantly surprised by the sound of this guitar!!! However, I was disappointed by the quality of the frets! They are so sharp that they literally cut my fingers just by rubbing my hand down the neck. My buddy is a professional musician so I asked him to check it out and he cut his fingers just by playing it. The company definitely could have used some quality control... I am having a luthier fix it and hopefully it wont cost me as much as an upgraded guitar would when he's done. Over all I am very pleased and am just bummed out that I can't play it for a couple more days.

excellent guitar but... Mar 27, 2011
By hypnotic90 I received this guitar 5 days early and I am in Afghanistan. That is really good. The guitar came brand new with no detectable defects. The only problem I have is that the strings are a little rough on the fingers. My fingers were hurting after a few minutes of playing. This can be fixed with a simple string replacement. Really good guitar for the price.

Great for beginners Nov 13, 2011
By dratt I purchased this guitar for my son about 1 1/2 yrs ago ,it is put together pretty well ,good sound, has held up well .He plays it daily along with his other guitar( electric ) we have since purchased because he loves to play. Not to mention it is inexpensive.Don't get me wrong it isn't a Gibson,Martin or Taylor but excellent for beginners . I would recommend this product for anyone who is thinking of learning to play ,if you or someone you are buying it for decide the guitar isn't your/their thing ,you aren't out much money.
