  • Honduran Mahogany Neck

  • 3 x 6 Hand Spun Continental Cones

  • Rosewood Fretboard

  • T-Bridge with Ebony & Maple Saddle

Description

Recording King's classic tricone resonator has three 6 Continental cones that transfer incredibly loud tones through the body of the guitar. The cones are positioned with two on the bass side and one on the treble side, giving an EQ balance with a sweeter, warmer sound. This tricone is made from nickel-plated bell brass and features a screen coverplate and T-shaped bridge with an ebony and maple saddle. The bridge is connected to the center of each cone so that when the strings are hit, the vibrations run through the saddle and then into the bridge. This tricone has a distinct tone and long sustain characterized by brilliant overtones and a natural ambiance only found in resonator instruments.

5Recording King Tricone Metal Resonator Guitar  Sep 22, 2010 By happy camper
I'm really enjoying my new Tricone Resonator. It was delivered in excellent condition. The shipper had requested signature service, I had to arrange a delivery date that I would be available. No Problem, FEDEX arrainged to deliver when I was home. I took the guitar from the shipping container, to find it in perfect condition. I tuned it and played for awhile listening to the bluesy sounds it could create. Later that evening, I went to a jam session. Everyone was blown away! The price is right and a great value.for the money If you want a Metal tricone reso, this is IT!!

2Could have been nice....  Dec 28, 2011 By Kirk Lawler "KL"
With a little extra effort on the part of the manufacturer, this tricone could have made a great starter dobro. The body seemed very well made and the neck, while simple and unadorned, was carefully fashioned. However, the strings and the tuners were garbage: on the first attempt to adjust to a standard open G tuning one string broke and two of the tuning pegs stripped. The strings that I managed to tune were as dull as last week's sports section. I could not even assess how the instrument sounded until these components were replaced. As it turned out, the stock cones were just so-so. After having gotten off to such a bad start, I can't decide whether to spring for a replacement set of National cones (another $130) or just sell the guitar. Either way, I probably won't buy anything from Recording King again.

5Great quality, nice sound.  Sep 26, 2011 By noclaimtofame
This Reso Guitar is finely crafted, and has a really nice sound. It is suitable for blue grass sound or blues. I thought it might show a lot fingerprints, etc., but it isn't a problem. I wipe it off occasionally and it looks great, and holds the shine.

5At $325 the price was right  Jan 18, 2011 By OneManBand
This was the best priced tricone resonator squareneck guitar I could find... almost $100 cheaper than most others. The quality is just as good, if not better, than well known brands costing several times as much. I wish they offered one with a powder coat paint color rather than the traditional mirror chrome finish.
